Mark: I believe we are getting somewhere with this CPA discussion.
Since I have the direct experience of regular interaction with members of the Millenial,GenX, BabyBoom and Irrelevant(my) generations, I believe that I can see the evolutionary advantage of CPA.
As an educator of a select group of young millenials, you are in a good position to comment on whether they “present”evidence of beneficial combinatory effects of current culture and cyberspace technologies in their capacity for learning and critical thinking and ecological resilience in their technology-enhanced socializing and “studying”.
I think kids who are “gamesters” from their earliest days are “wired” to manage CPA beneficially, and that as “digital natives” they have an evolutionary advantage over their “digital immigrant” elders.
Energized by Linda Stone’s dire comments on CPA, I am coming to believe that her phrase is a very useful one in describing a techno-cultural phenomenon of our times – and that CPA properly understood can be seen as advantageous to Millenials growing up with the dilemma of infoglut and attention scarcity.
