To All-<\/p>\n

We are looking forward to seeing everyone a month from now, on the\u00a0morning of 12 October 2012 in Quantico.<\/p>\n

IF YOU ARE A SPEAKER:\u00a0 I need a positive response from you that your\u00a0time allotted, subject and day are correct.\u00a0 If you need us to move\u00a0you, let me know.<\/p>\n

Coordinating instructions:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Dress code\u00a0Casual.<\/p>\n

Officers:\u00a0 you do not need to wear a uniform.\u00a0 There will be people\u00a0there in blue jeans.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Location<\/p>\n

We are going to be in two different places on the two days we are there.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the first day, we will meet at 7:30 am in the Command and\u00a0Staff College building, right next to the Gray Research Center.\u00a0You should have no trouble at the gate.<\/p>\n

To stay overnight:\u00a0 Crossroads Inn is a hotel on the base, less than a\u00a0mile from the venues.\u00a0 It is at 3018 Russell Rd, Quantico, VA 22134\u00a0Phone\u00a0 (703)630-4444<\/p>\n

On Saturday, we will meet at 8:00 am at the Expeditionary Warfare\u00a0School, also on the base in Quantico.\u00a0 We will give those directions\u00a0on Friday.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Food<\/p>\n

We are looking for volunteers for food and drink.\u00a0 Coffee, water and\u00a0snacks are most welcome.\u00a0Please contact me and Scott Shipman if you are able to help.\u00a0[Note: Scott Shipman is bringing coffee. Someone volunteered for water and bagels, but I misplaced the note—drop me a comment\/email to close the loop.]<\/strong><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 Tempo<\/p>\n

We are cramming in a lot of information and a lot of\u00a0presentations…and a lot of people.\u00a0I know that the math does not add up on our schedule; people can\u00a0contract or expand as needed.\u00a0It is my intent that we will eat right there in the room, both days,\u00a0and take breaks right there as well.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0 Next<\/p>\n

It is my intent that we will start doing this twice a year.\u00a0I am planning to start a Boyd and Beyond 2013 conference in Silicon\u00a0Valley \/ Monterey \/ Palo Alto area next spring, IN ADDITION TO our\u00a0usual October event in Quantico.\u00a0 I am convinced that people there\u00a0will be intrigued by our group and will want to participate.\u00a0I have started talking to people about how, and where, to do this.\u00a0 If\u00a0you have ideas, bring them and we will discuss.<\/p>\n
