{"id":1913,"date":"2006-08-28T02:59:00","date_gmt":"2006-08-28T02:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zenpundit.com\/?p=1913"},"modified":"2006-08-28T02:59:00","modified_gmt":"2006-08-28T02:59:00","slug":"1913","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zenpundit.com\/?p=1913","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>RAMBLING RECOMMENDATIONS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Due to an aggravating surfeit of mundane but absolutely necessary tasks, the third part of the Nixon series will have to wait a day or two.<\/p>\n<p>Some minor recommendations:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fas.org\/blog\/secrecy\/\">Secrecy News<\/a><\/strong> put out by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fas.org\/sgp\/aftergood.html\"><strong>Dr. Steven Aftergood<\/strong> <\/a>of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fas.org\/main\/home.jsp\"><strong>Federation of American Scientists<\/strong> <\/a>is a high quality, almost unbelievably good, blog deserving of much wider notice. I say this as someone who thinks that while Dr. Aftergood is sometimes too cavalier in his attitude toward what I would regard as vital (i.e. things that actually should be classfied) secrets, he shines a much needed, expert, light on the counterproductive secrecy empire of the security bureaucracy.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shloky.com\/\">Shloky.com<\/a><\/strong> is also, IMHO, vastly underrated. A blog that punches well above its weight class.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/globalguerrillas.typepad.com\/globalguerrillas\/2006\/08\/thanks_center_f.html\">John Robb<\/a><\/strong> highlighted <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.isn.ch\/index.cfm\"><strong>ISN Blog<\/strong> <\/a> recently. Worth checking out.<\/p>\n<p>Vibrant and edgy <a href=\"http:\/\/theglitteringeye.com\/?p=2292\">discussion about Iran&#8217;s latest nuclear technology provocation <\/a>at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglitteringeye.com\/\">The Glittering Eye<\/a><\/strong>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caerdroia.org\/blog\/\"><strong>Jeff Medcalf<\/strong> <\/a>and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/lounsbury.aqoul.com\/\">Collounsbury<\/a> <\/strong>are going head to head.<\/p>\n<p>Two gentlemen I respect: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.austinbay.net\/blog\/index.php\"><strong>Colonel Austin Bay<\/strong> <\/a>features <a href=\"http:\/\/austinbay.net\/blog\/?p=1387\">a guest post by Naval War College professor <strong>Dr. Tom Nichols<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Two important military theory related posts by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomaspmbarnett.com\/weblog\/archives2\/003645.html\"><strong>Dr. Barnett<\/strong> <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/globalguerrillas.typepad.com\/globalguerrillas\/2006\/08\/playing_at_war.html\"><strong>John Robb<\/strong> <\/a>that I probably would have critiqued at length had I not spent the last hour trying to fix the F-ing dresser that the <strong><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">Son of Zenpundit<\/span><\/strong> somehow damaged ( I strongly suspect there was some kind of &#8220;ladder&#8221; scenario going on with the drawers to get the &#8220;Buried Treasure&#8221;  hotwheel type toy that was out of reach).<\/p>\n<p>An article: &#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/usacac.army.mil\/CAC\/milreview\/English\/MayJun06\/WEB%20pdf\/Baker.pdf\">A Decisive weapon: A Brigade Commander&#8217;s Perspective on Information Operations<\/a>&#8221; (PDF).
