Prodded to read War Nerd<\/a><\/strong> by co-blogger\u00a0Lexington Green<\/a><\/strong>, I found\u00a0Gary Brecher’s<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>writing is a weird fusion of Robert Young Pelton<\/strong> crossbred with Dave Barry<\/strong>, yielding some sort of one-man,\u00a0Mad Magazine<\/em><\/strong> of modern warfare but without the cartoons by Don Martin and Sergio Aragones. Beneath\u00a0Brecher’s crafted shtick, however, lies a genuine grasp of military history and an\u00a0analytical shrewdness with which I found myself nodding in agreement all too frequently.<\/p>\n
