In the Bukhari, it is even written that the Prophet once left his armor in the possession of a Jew so it would be protected!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bukhari, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usc.edu\/org\/cmje\/religious-texts\/hadith\/bukhari\/045-sbt.php\">Volume 3, Book 45, Number 690<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Narrated &#8216;Aisha:<\/p>\n<p>Allah&#8217;s Apostle bought some foodstuff from a Jew and mortgaged his armor to him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bewley&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sunnipath.com\/library\/Hadith\/H0002P0051.aspx\">more colloquial translation<\/a> gives:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It is related that &#8216;A&#8217;isha said, &#8220;The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, bought some food from a Jew on credit and left his armour as security.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s it, folks. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ by Charles Cameron &#8212; food for thought ] .
