Even today, three days after its release, there is largely silence from DOD, save a brief public comment and a link to documents and photos at <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.centcom.mil\/\"><strong>http:\/\/www.centcom.mil\/<\/strong><\/a><strong> (hidden in plain sight through the link labeled &#8220;<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.centcom.mil\/en\/press-releases\/link-for-foia-documents-on-july-2007-new-baghdad-combat-action.html\"><strong>Link to FOIA documents on July 2007 New Baghdad Combat Action<\/strong><\/a><strong>&#8220;). Don&#8217;t bother going to <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.defense.mil\/\"><strong>http:\/\/www.defense.mil\/<\/strong><\/a><strong> as that site, and hence the Pentagon, has <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" width=\"100\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ondayone.org\/sites\/all\/themes\/ondayone\/images\/judges\/Matt_Armstrong.jpg\" height=\"135\" \/>nothing readily available either. The April 6 briefing pack did not include the explanatory imagery and there is no news release explanation the Department&#8217;s position. It&#8217;s as if nothing happened. When asked about the situation, senior official at DOD pointed me to the &#8220;great piece&#8221; in <em>The New York Times<\/em> <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/04\/08\/world\/08psych.html\"><strong>explaining how trained soldiers view and operate in these events<\/strong><\/a><strong> differently than civilians.
