There are two ways or the media to respond in a situation like this, one of which is to defend freedom of speech by asserting it, while the other seeks to minimize the inflammation. Here they are, as examplified in two tweets from two journalists today:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\" lang=\"en\">\n<p>. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Telegraph\">@Telegraph<\/a>&#39;s blurring out of Muhammad cartoons &#8211; while reporting on massacre targeting same creators of those cartoons &#8211; is a betrayal.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Brooklyn Middleton (@BklynMiddleton) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BklynMiddleton\/status\/552826800406294528\">January 7, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p>the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Telegraph\">@Telegraph<\/a> blurring cartoons while reporting is a very sensitive and mature move. Van Gogh was definitely one. In the West, being an asshole is a cherished right.
