Watching a film by <strong>Tarkovsky<\/strong> invites a certain stillness, permeated with wonder. It is in that stillness that the birds..<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aWo_uHY_glw\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8230;in this case, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/ruUQ5pF.jpg\">Nostalghia<\/a><\/strong>, are born from the <strong>Madonna<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>I was reading my daily quota of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.3quarksdaily.com\/\">Three Quarks Daily<\/a> and found <strong>Leanne Ogasawara<\/strong>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.3quarksdaily.com\/3quarksdaily\/2016\/05\/dreaming-of-the-madonna.html\">Dreaming of the Madonna<\/a> &#8212; interesting, indeed beautiful &#8212; but when it closed with that video clip I was &#8212; transported, transfixed. Such luminous beauty.<\/p>\n<p>The woman painted, the woman carried, and the woman walking.<\/p>\n<p>**<\/p>\n<p>And then to recall another woman walking, in a clip no less beautiful: the exquisite <strong>Sara Mingardo<\/strong>, who has been holding back, listening to and absorbing conductor <strong>Rinaldo Alessandrini<\/strong> and <strong>Concerto Ialiano<\/strong> performing <strong>Vivaldi<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Gloria<\/em> from the start of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mEcSThti5hM\"><strong>Philippe B\u00e9ziat<\/strong>&#8216;s movie<\/a> of that great work, and moves slowly forward to join them to sing her agonized opening notes, &#8220;Domine Deaus, Agnus Dei&#8221; &#8212; &#8220;Lord God, Lamb of God&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WGSbKnpilJE\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>**<\/p>\n<p>It is entirely possible to be lifted from this world into another world &#8212; without the necessity of leaving this one.<\/p>\n<p>To be lifted from beauty to beauty. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ by Charles Cameron &#8212; Tarkovsky, Nostalghia, Vivaldi, Mingardo ] .
