Government <strong>of the people, by the people, for the people<\/strong> is less convincing when <strong>some things just shouldn\u2019t be decided by the people<\/strong>, <em>ne<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>**<\/p>\n<p>I dunno. Because then again, there&#8217;s <strong>Andrew Sullivan<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/nymag.com\/daily\/intelligencer\/2016\/04\/america-tyranny-donald-trump.html\">Democracies End When They Are Too Democratic<\/a>, and <strong>Roslyn Fuller<\/strong>&#8216;s response, <a href=\"https:\/\/lareviewofbooks.org\/article\/democracy-too-much-of-a-good-thing\">America Needs More Democracy, Not Less<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Forget <strong>Plato<\/strong> for a moment &#8212; what would <strong>Socrates<\/strong> say?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ by Charles Cameron &#8212; a DoubleQuote catches some WaPo weaseling with words ] .
