One side is racist, bigoted, Nazi. The other opposes racism and bigotry. From <strong>Amy Davidson Sorkin<\/strong> in the New Yorker &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/news\/amy-davidson-sorkin\/donald-trump-from-his-tower-rages-at-the-other-side-in-charlottesville\">Donald Trump, from His Tower, Rages at \u201cthe Other Side\u201d in Charlottesville<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You had a group on one side that was bad and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. And nobody wants to say that. But I\u2019ll say that right now.\u201d The bad group was the white nationalists; the \u201cvery violent\u201d group was those who had come to object. In case anyone missed his point, he continued, \u201cYou had a group on the other side that came charging in\u2014without a permit\u2014and they were very, very violent.\u201d Trump wasn\u2019t putting the two sides on the same level; he was saying that the counter-protesters were worse.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>**<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a very different feel to the two kinds of &#8220;both \/ and&#8221; IMO &#8212; Trump&#8217;s actually favoring one side in a conflict and protecting it by shifting some of the blame away from it, while Obama&#8217;s is neutral as to sides (though in the case of racists vs non-racists, he&#8217;d presumably favor the non-racists. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/zenpundit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/buddhist-knot.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"115\" height=\"124\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56559\" \/><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>My head buzzes: an interesting little logical knot, I think.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ by Charles Cameron &#8212; didn&#8217;t i post this? okay, it&#8217;s a few days old, but i&#8217;ll post it ] .
