Space Nazis are Worse than Illinois Nazis
I am not even sure what Iron Sky is supposed to be, but I saw it on Blog Them Out of the Stone Age.
But I still hate Illinois Nazis…..

Near as I can tell, UFO-riding Nazi space zombies looking for the lost treasure of the Knights Templar and the Freemasons is about 95% of programming on the History Channel.

Those Nazis never seem to go away, do they? The Swastika appears to be the most powerful symbol in the world? No other arrangement of "sticks" will cause more controversy. I had TAs in college who wore the sickle and hammer on their shirt, and no one knew any different. There’s something about that "crooked cross" that produces energy like no other symbol? I’m pretty sure its our socialization related to the symbol which creates this energy, but there is still something about the symbol itself in which it appears to almost spin in a clockwise direction? The Nazis were quite skilled at using symbols and aesthetics. Of course the Swastika itself was shared by many cultures.

No other arrangement of sticks can produce the energy (in the form of extreme controversy) of the swastika. I had a TA in college who wore the sickle and hammer on a t-shirt and noone thought any different.

Studies have claimed that certain geometic figures, such as rectangles proportioned by the Golden Mean, simply please the human eye on a physiological level. The swastika may be another such physiologically hardwired figure.
