Bleary Eyed
Saturday, August 23rd, 2008Up late doing readings for a degree program that I’m doing for my day job and had to bound out of bed this morning because the upstairs neighbor’s furnace leaked water through the ceiling of the garage ( which now has to be replaced) and contractors had to get into the garage to try to access the leak. I have to wonder what nut of an architect designed this mess as the neighbor is not directly above our unit.
In Praise of the Leatherman

About two years ago, I stood up in a wedding for a friend and received as a groomsman’s gift a Leatherman Surge. Not being familiar with Leatherman at the time, I threw it in a drawer where it sat for at least six months, gathering dust.
An error. I have found the Surge to be a marvelously handy multipurpose knife that I use almost every day. Despite that, the blade is still razor sharp and the Surge performs as well as it did the first time I used it. If I travel, the Leatherman travels with me. In an era where we are accustomed to buying high priced junk with a definite shelf life, it’s a pleasure to have something ruggedly made to last. I recommend it highly to anyone but for the Gents, a Leatherman is a must-have for your dude arsenal.

Visiting the Land of Oz
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008Had a most excellent trip visiting with the Wizards of Oz and interact and their families. Shane proved to be both master chef and a very skilled bartender as well as an aspiring lead guitarist, at least in avatar form. It was a wonderful get-together that produced much childish squealing over fireworks, underground caverns, ice cream outings, science museums and trampolines.
Ahem…for those interested, the number of allusions to tdaxp was > 10. 🙂
