Generally in politics if you disconnect sufficiently you end up creating a majority – for the other side.

how does that apply to say, the middle east?
if we disconnect then it gets to be Chinas headache? Or Russia? that would be great. and the muslim populations on their borders would insure they had a hard time of it.
