Nice, but this is an empty show of force. To destroy a planet, the Empire requires a gigantic Death Star which takes forever to build, is incredibly difficult to defend against small craft attack, and requires a staff of roughly one million to man.The destyor a planet, the Federation requires 1 genesis device and/or Romulan mining ship, both of which are quite portable.

Destroying an actual planet is overkill (perhaps the ultimate in overkill).  A Federation starship can execute General Order 24, to destroy all life on a planet.  This gets the job done just as well, without building a vast single-purpose Death Star.

As described in the original Star Trek episodes  "A Taste of Armageddon" and "Whom Gods Destroy.

I bow before the superior Star Trek lore of TDAXP and FM. 😉

Drilling to the center of a planet is also overkill. You could drop "red matter" into the atmosphere of, say, Vulcan, form a singularity, suck up a significant proportion of the planet’s atmosphere and large blocks of the planet’s crust, and still kill a significant portion of the global population of "green blooded hobgoblins". A taste for drama must have been one of the things that the Vulcans gave up when they embraced the teachings of Surak. Melodrama was left to the evil Romulans.

    That was an awesome video!

Are you serious?  No shields?  Scottie would have gotten enough power back to the photon torpedoes and the impulse engines after that initial broadside to make quick work of your puny death star…geez.
