A GORDIAN KNOT OF CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Decorated the tree this afternoon with the kids who are now finally at an age where they can actually hang more ornaments than they break. Dad here had the usual frustrating Xmas light string experience and while I might have wanted to hack the goddamned tree into small pieces with a broadsword at one point, in the spirit of Christmas I refrained.
Ho ho ho.

A broad sword to chop up the Christmas Tree? Whoa! Those must be some old fashioned Xmas tree lights. You know, all the rage in Asia are Chinese made FIBER-OPTIC Christmas Trees (all the fake pine needles, and the colors!). But no tangles.

hi Riz
I have to wonder if Beijing will ever promote Xmas as a holiday domestically simply to gain another economic stimulus…..
Well, every year I carefully loop the endless strings of lights with great care so as not to tangle them and every year they emerge from the storage box looking like Charlie Brown’s kite string.
The kids had a good time though which is what counts.
