Frans Johansson, author of The Medici Effect, a book that I have cited in posts numerous times, emailed to let me know that he is now offering a free PDF download of The Medici Effect at his website. A wise move on his part, I believe. First, the gesture generates goodwill among his readership who can share the file in their social network and it costs Johansson nothing. Secondly, most people who are intrigued enough by reading some of the download are likely to just go out and buy a dead tree copy rather than read the entire book on a computer monitor.
