    Hi Lex,
    .
    I read a bit of it at dinner. It is good but "rough" in the sense that you are getting a lot of, new, inside information, from a defector type – valuable stuff – but it hasn’t been polished or put in the same (larger) context the way a professional historian would use the same material. Good companion book to Dallek, MacMillian, the Mao and Chiang bios etc.
