A meditation on Robert Pirsig‘s Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance:
Tryptich: zen speaks to zen, Suzuki to Suzuki, motorcycle to motorcycle
Pirsig died yesterday at his home in Maine, after 88 years hereabouts.

I’ve read Suzuki but not ridden a Suzuki

Sounds like you’re a zen pundit in need of maintenance, then.

I’ve ridden a Suzuki, but not sure that I have read Suzuki. Any help here?

There are two Suzukis writing on zen to choose from:
.
Daisetz T Suzuki, who more or less introduced zen to the west, appropriately enough published a book titled An Introduction to Zen Buddhism, with a foreowrd by Carl Jung.
.
Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, who founded the San Francisco Zen Center, whose collected talks there appear under the title Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind

Never read Pirsig. I have ridden Honda 250 dirtbikes, not sure if that counts. A book like that is probably about a touring bike, so doubtful I would guess.
I have read DT Suzuki too, so two out of three.

If you’ve done maintenance on the Honda, you’d qualify I think.
.
I have dipped into Pirsig, but am far too attention deficited to have read the whole thing.
