DoubleFlag in Tikrit

I like this because of the twinning of logos in the image, a sort of DoubleQuote in the Wild, and also because of the parallelism of opposites it proposes in the wording of its text portion — Shia militia vs Sunni IS.

Grurray asked me whether it was the Hezbollah flag, and I made my guess but asked Phillip Smyth, who covers Shia militias in Iraq on Aaron Zelin‘s Jihadology.net at Hizballah Cavalcade. He replied:

While we won’t comment on Mr. Smyth you may wish to check out these tweets on his Tweep and a man that many ZP readers seem to follow: Robert Caruso.

I must request that you refrain from anonymous ad hominem attacks on those who are neither quoted here nor present to defend themselves.

Mr. Caruso has strong opinions with which many ppl disagree or agree vehemently, judging from twitter, but he is not a member of this site, nor is he, as far as I am aware, even a regular reader of ZP. You should either engage Robert on twitter directly, or do so openly on a more appropriate forum, like a personal blog or listserv. Thanks
