Grognards and hard-core gamers won’t need this post, but it may be of interest to people like myself who don’t fall into those categories… For those not “watching” the world of games, then, here’s one recent game-promo video, followed by one student exercise in video-making which is not about an actual game mod..

    The “real” strategy thing is starting to bleed through into gaming (and entertainment in general) more and more as the one of the things the classics, of the Command and Conquer variety, were severely lacking in this area. Basically you win if you can line up enough guys and charge, so a little bit pre-WW1 all things considered. R.U.S.E did a superb job of bringing some of the ideas of counter intelligence into a game environment, well worth a try if you’ve any interest. Disclosure: I’m one of those “hard core gamers” you mention above.

    Haha yes indeed, the sacrifices we make. I recently had to trade off a holiday in order to get a new gaming rig. All those foreign places will still be there in the second half of the year.
